  We visited South Down Car Sales looking for a sensible, 5 door, cheap run around and on a whim bought a convertible BMW. From the start we were helped with our low budget and rather unexciting requests, suggested some cars and given the keys and allowed to go an look for ourselves with no heavy pitch. I can't stand being followed about or pushed and they did neither, which was great. While looking at the cars we saw the totally unsuitable BMW, with far too many miles and no service history and decided that was what we had to have. They were honest about the service history and also that there was a fault with the roof that they thought would work after a good run about. We bought the car and off we went. Only for the roof to get stuck half way up less than a week later! However, where this garage comes in to its own is its after care. We got the car back to them, they got it sorted and apologised profusely. After taking it away it broke again (this time a fault with a sensor in the engine - I think, I am now car person) and I was stranded! I called them and within 10 minutes the chaps from their neighboring repair garage came to get me, my dog, and the car and back we went. Again they apologised and assured me it would be sorted and even gave me a car to borrow! I also run my own business and have learned that it's not the problem people remember, it's how you deal with it and this service is a shining example of how to do it!! Within 48 hours the car was fixed and they drove it out to me and collected the loan car. The car is gorgeous but old and well driven so faults will happen and didn't go in blindly to the purchase. Excellent aftercare, nice guys running it.
